QUESTION: How much will you pay for the “Toonie Tuesday” special at KFC?

ANSWER: More than a toonie…almost 40% more for a total of $2.79.

Imagine if this extended over into, say, the automobile industry: “A dollar will get you this car! Just be sure to bring 25,000 more with you.”

These are the things which keep me awake at night. And revenge fantasies.

While standing in line the other day at the post office at the northside Pharmasave, I saw the package description at the left for a toy tea set. Needless to say, I was a bit confused.

First off, the teapot and teacup set was listed as “Coffee World”.

Now let’s read the rest of the awesome description on the side panel. “With such simulated coffee set, your kids could assemble them freely.” Ummm….ok.

The next line did not even merit capitalization: “attractive outlooking”. What is “outlooking” and how would one know if it is “attractive”?

“…and packing with simulating function” – ok, a little awkward, but I get it. This is not a real tea / coffee set.

It continues: “…bring your kids into the happly world of coffee.” Ok, what is “happly”? Assuming it is “happy”, why would a parent introduce their kids into the “happy world of coffee”? On a toy gun would it suggest parents, “start your child off right with an intro into the world of gangsters”?

If you buy this for your kid this Christmas, please include a dictionary. If not, your child may find unhapply outlooking. Or something.

I saw this ad in the latest Staples flyer and had a laugh. When was the last time you saw an ad for a computer – or for anything really – where a free DOWNGRADE was being offered?

The irony here is that last weekend I was discussing how folks were indeed downgrading from Vista to XP. Does not say much for Microsoft’s latest and “greatest” operating system.

But this does say a lot about Staples Canada President Steve Matyas who goes on to prove his genius is never ending. (Note to self, it will be interesting to see if Staples / Steve uses any sort of news/blog clipping service – or if Steve sees this as blatant kissing up, which it is not, ’cause Steve is awesome).
