Raise a Reader
I love reading. I read a couple of books a month, daily newspapers, weekly newspapers, at least two magazines a week plus whatever work related reading I am doing. My perfect vacation always includes lying on a beach and reading.
Today I joined the fun crew at CKNW (including afternoon host Christy Clark pictured with me at the left) to sell newspapers at the corner of Georgia and Granville for the annual Raise A Reader campaign. The money raised stays in the community to support local literacy programs. Since 2002 this program has raised over $10 million.
The two hours on the street were a lot of fun with members of the Vancouver Canucks stopping by – including mascot Finn who, well, attacked me…photos to follow.
We really need to bring this event to Port Coquitlam next year.
