At this time last year, SHARE Family Services had a food bank crisis – near zero food in their facility.
In the span of 48 hours through social media and traditional news outlets we held a major food drive, re-filled the food bank thanks to generous donations from the community and ensured families in need had access to nutritious food.
So a year later, we are working to hold another food drive on Tuesday, December 13th.
SHARE’s food bank is not in crisis mode – mostly because of an incredible food drive in July – but we thought we would tap into the giving nature of the season, collect lots of food and ensure the food back does not hit critical low levels again.

If you, your workplace, school or organization want to help by collecting non-perishable food for the December 13th food drive – we would LOVE to have your help!

Come on down to Save on Foods on Pinetree in Coquitlam between 3pm-7pm on Tuesday, December 13th and join CKNW to help fill SHARE Food Bank for Christmas. Help us raise 12,000 tins of canned fruit and canned fish & meat, 1600 jars of peanut butter, 8000 jars of tomato sauce, and 8000 packages of pasta. Help us fill 1800 Christmas hampers for families in the Tri-Cities.
Please bring non-perishable food donations down to Save on Foods at 2991 Lougheed Hwy and have the chance to meet Philup the food bank mascot.
