TWiSM – Get More Friends’ News in Your Facebook Newsfeed
This week I had four people say that I am the only person who shows up in their newsfeed or that they see the same people over and over. They went on to say that these “newsfeed jammers” need to get a life because no one else used Facebook status updates like these handful of nerds.
As you can see, I have mean friends.
The “New Facebook”, which launched in late 2010, has a newsfeed setting that by default is automatically set to show ONLY posts from people who you’ve recently interacted with or interacted the most. This means, for both business and personal pages, unless your friends/fans commented on one of your posts within a few weeks or vice versa of the “New Facebook” launch – you are now invisible to them and they are invisible to you.
But fear not – there is a fix so you may see all or some of your friend’s great writings. Never miss out again on my witty life commentaries or your brother’s lament that “Line ups at McDonald’s suck!!!”
ADDED: Listen to my Mountain FM “This Week In Social Media” on this topic and a couple other topics:
Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.
HERE’S THE FIX:
1) Scroll down to the bottom of the newsfeed on the homepage and click on “Edit Options”.
2) Now click on “Show Posts From” and change the setting to “All Of Your Friends and Pages”.
3) Done!
Did this fix your need to see more news from your Facebook friends?
