As you know, I love cheerleaders. In fact I made that public declaration to Vancouver City Council on December 17, 2009.
What concerns me, is the reckless nature of the sport and the possibility for cheerleaders in their prime to be injured and not fulfill their potential. As you know, there are more deaths in cheerleading in the US between 1982 and 2007 (75 deaths) than in MMA worldwide during that same period (2 deaths).
Now, cheerleaders are brawling in the hallways of schools. Sigh…I hope this sort of thing does not find its way into MMA or worse, pro-wrestling.
