Hey Vanoc! How about some GOOD Canadian content?

This morning I received an email from a politican friend saying:

Wanna get goosebumps? Watch:

then a link to a video.  At first I thought it might be a video I shot from my days at University – when I was young and needed the money – coming back to haunt me.  But no…it was worse.  FAR worse.

The video was from the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Committee promoting the upcoming Torch Run.  The images in the video were OUTSTANDING, moving and yes, goosebump worthy.  The song playing under the images?  “Fix You” by Coldplay…..COLDPLAY!

So…Vanoc could not find a Canadian band to play for the video?  If that is the case then 1) they are not looking very hard; 2) they are not too bright; and 3) they are lucky I am on the case.

While watching the video I thought to myself, “The Doughboy’s ‘Shine’ would be totally awesome for this video!  It is fast paced and not sappy lame like that wankfest they have playing right now. Also, it is interesting to note that the Doughboys had a song entitled “Fix Me” years before CP’s “Fix You” so just another plagiarism claim against the Brit band.”  Yes, I have long, rambling thoughts.

So with that in mind, I chopped off the last minute or so of the video (as the old saying goes, if you cannot say it in under 3 minutes then Coldplay sucks) and put ‘Shine’ under the video with no other editing.  Surely you will agree this is a VAST improvement. No need to thank me Vanoc.

Enjoy!
