Looks like Our Lady Of Assumption Catholic Church has taken at least one piece of advice from what I wrote the other day and has someone patrolling their parking lot.
At the 10am mass today a nice lady in an orange safety vest was walking through the lot and near the unpaved road. It appears she was there to ensure parisheners did not park on neighbour’s lawns; in their driveways or blocking their driveways. This is a great step in the right direction.
On the negative, the loudspeakers were blasting yet again and the church doors were wide open with roughly eight people sitting on the porch. This was not because the Church was full to capacity; rather some folks had crying kids and others just were hot from being inside the Church.
The concern the community has is if the Church does not realize the neighbourhood does not wish to have multiple masses broadcast into their backyards how will the Church realize that ringing the three to eight new proposed bells from their overheight bell tower whenever they like is also unwelcome?
Good move on the parking – now turn off the speakers and work on drafting a Good Neighbour Agreement. Can I get an Amen?

The new church will remedy the noise issue: It will include a “crying room” so instead of sending parents with crying children outside to listen from the speakers, they will just go to another room inside the church.
Yes – the new church will have a “crying room”, however in the interim, they should correct the problem and turn off the speakers.
