Disgraced former Port Coquitlam Mayor Scott Young FINALLY submitted his financial disclosure papers today! A mere 9 days, 20 hours, 29 minutes and 48 seconds late (give or take a couple of hours).
Here is a link to his filing and a link to a piece in the Tri-City News.
More commentary from me to follow.

ah, yes I wondered why he was meeting with City staff at Starbucks today.
Leave the man alone!!! Aren’t you happy that you tried to lobby and got rid of him? Focus on what city is facing. Higher taxes making no sense, you supporting casino, pay raises for your buddy Mayor when Poco residents may be facing high taxes; guns shops in your favor; mma’s and is this what you want for this small city?
You are so contradictive of what you have said during your campaign and of other people. Enough is enough!!!!!!
I am no Scott Young supporter, but he has kids and a life to move forward. It’s his own damn problem if he wants to pay fines and not file on time.
Do you know how many drug dealers and gangsters are living in Port Coquitlam? Enough for city council to turn away and ignore ths problem.
Paul you have a unique way of twisting my written comments to suit your purpose. See below plus links to my originals postings:
1) Leave Scott alone? You mean, I am not to comment on someone who refuses to file election papers which he is legally obligated to do? I am sure I – and others – will comment. As to your comments that it is basically ok for Scott to not pay the fine and/or file on time, you are wrong.

2) Yes, I am happy I worked to rid the city of a woman abusing, alcohol / drug abusing disgrace of a Mayor. I am still pursuing legislation which will give all BC residents the right to fire their politicians instead of having to wait three years between elections. I am also quite satisfied that I garnered more votes than Scott in the November election during my first run at office.

3) Higher taxes are a reality for most municipalities during this year. I have chided the past councils on their inability to get control of the Coast Meridian Overpass expenses which in part has led to the 7%+ tax increase.

4) I do support a casino in our City with the City’s cut of the proceeds going to fund our sports and heritage projects. The nearly $5 million in yearly proceeds would be a boon to our City. Is a casino the answer to all the problems? Absolutely not, but I believe it is a viable option to assist with some funding shortfalls.

5) Yes, I believe our PoCo City Council is underpaid. As such a pay review is in order. I also gave my assessment of what those increases should be. Not only would my “buddy the Mayor” get a raise, but so too would the six Councillors. Pay raises for politicians is always a hot topic. Addressing it in a logical a fair manner is good (which I did). Saying politicians deserve no raises at any time is ridiculous.

6) In favour of gun shops? Wow, you are wrong. Gun shops are already here in PoCo. I wrote that I am in favour of regulation and question the need for shooting ranges in our City.

7) MMA or mixed martial arts – yes I support the sport. I am working to have the sport regulated under the Vancouver Athletic Commission. Not sure how that means it is coming to PoCo. I cannot think of a venue in PoCo where such an event would be financially viable.
Paul, what contraindications in my election? Since you sited none, this shows you are just spewing venom.
City Council needs to address problems in our City. This is why I volunteer on a number of committees and task forces as opposed to merely writing incorrect posts on a blog. Think about it.
Geez, no comments on the Liberal’s speedster!! No excuses and even for drinking and driving once, not twice!
What about the pic you have have yourself staring at your buddy’s butt! Before you make such comments about those NDP candidates and others, look at yourself.
I agreed with Paul’s comments!!
