It is official – Federal Liberal Leader Stephane Dion is out and Michael Ignatieff was “unanimously” appointed interim leader by the caucus.
During the 2006 Liberal Leadership race, Iggy was the hands on favourite to win. He won the first two ballots but lost on the third when Dion was able to rally the supporters of the other failed candidates to join him. So now being appointed interim leaders is a better-late-than-never victory.
I believe this will help strengthen the Coalition as would-be supporters who were not good for Dion may now give Iggy a chance.
Speaking of Iggy, lets checkout Iggy Pop’s 1986 hit “Real Wild Child”. Ok, this post was really just a segue to the video.
