YWCA Vancouver has been developing plans over the past year and a half to construct 30 units of supportive affordable housing for single mothers and their children on Coquitlam-owned land at 528 Como Lake Ave. The necessary site rezoning is going to public hearing on Wednesday, December 10th. This is THE pivotal event in the life of this project. Coquitlam Council will make their decision to approve or reject this project based on what they hear at this hearing.

You can make this information available to friends and neighbours who might be interested, and encourage them to express their support to Coquitlam Council and to attend the hearing on December 10th. In particular, it would have an impact if people that live in the Burquitlam area (bounded by Burnaby on the west, Blue Mountain Ave. on the east, Port Moody on the north and extending down towards Lougheed on the south) would stand up at the hearing and tell Council they live in Burquitlam and support the project
